series, began in Fall of 2022 on Instagram alongside the debut of Karina’s Poems, Prompts, and Purpose Card Deck. These occasional videos were meticulously crafted to kindle inspiration to writers of all levels and all types. The cards are catalysts, sparking ideas and providing direction.

As the series unfolded, it expanded beyond mere prompts, embracing a diverse array of writing styles and interactive games to share with the writing community. This project continues organically, with spontaneous videos shared occasionally on Instagram.

4. Quote and Note Prompt 2

5. Magnetic Poetry I

Sharing another style of engaging with poetry, magnetic poetry. This is part of the Encouragement Deck. A great way to create a poem using the words in the tin can. Music by Maile “I Got You”.

6. Photo Prompt

Write about your relationship with the photo prompt (Mirror) from the Poems, Prompts, and Purpose Card deck. Music by “Nightmares On Wax” Nights Interlude.

7. Writing Dice

Happy New Year! We are creating a poem by using Writing Dice that encourages writers to roll, brainstorm, and write. Music instrumental by Bad Bunny “Monaco”.

8. Writer’s Tool Box

This poetic game includes prompt cards, popcycle sticks, a spinner, and timer. It teaches you how to start a story, end writer’s block, and have to have fun. Music instrumental by Keni Burke “Risin’ to the Top”.

19. Poetic Collage

Learn how to create a poetic collage but cutting out words from a magazine to create a unique stanzas. Listen to my poem at the end of the video. Music by Radiohead “National Anthem”. 

10. Paint Chip Poetry

It’s My Birthday Month! This poetic game paint chip cards, prompt cards, 10 variation cards & instruction sheet to get you to write a colorful and unique poem. Music instrumental by Jamiroquai “Return of the Space Cowboy”.

11. Black Out Poetry

Learn how to take existing text from a book, magazine, or newspaper article when you can’t the words to write. The words are all there for you to work with. I provide examples. Listen to my poem at the end. Music instrumental by Mos Def “Hip Hop”.

12. Visual and Quote Prompt

Happy Spring! In this video, I was inspired not only by a beautiful decal that was purchased on Shein but also a quote that supported it. A two for one deal. The challenge? Write a poem with two prompts. Music instrumental by Mister Mister “Broken Wings”.

13. Magnetic Poetry II Online Version

In this video, we are experimenting with the Magnetic Poetry Online Kit. We slide the word magnets from the right of the screen to the left to build stanzas. Music by Kruder & Dorfmeister “High Noon”.

14. Haikubes

April 17 is National Haiku Day and we celebrate by writing haikus however, in this video we create haikus with the Haikubes game kit. Roll the dice, create stanzas, and read the poem.

Today we are celebrating Poem in Your Pocket Day by writing, sharing and reading poetry. I created a few pocket poems  are they are available in the Poems, Prompts, and Purpose Card Deck. I also share my Maya Angelou’s Pocket Wisdom book in this video. Music by

15. Book Spine Poem

National Poetry Month is over, but we continue to write! Today we are creating Book Spine Poetry. This is when we create a poem by stacking book titles. Music by Stro Elliot “Kamaal Coltrane”.

16. Ecotherapy Reflection and Writing 

Happy Summer! Before we begin writing, take a moment to reflect, relax, and meditate on the beauty of nature. Once you feel ready, begin to write about how you feel in the moment or write about what you see around you.  Music: Birds of Spring

17. Seasonal Shift Quote as Prompt

Happy Autumn! It’s been a while and today we will write a poem based on this quote: “The Trees (or Leaves) Are About to Show Us How Lovely It Is to Let Things Go”.  What do you need to let go? Write it out! Music by Okvsho- “Jusqu’ici tout va bien”.

18. Ekphrastic Poetry 

Today we are going to create an Ekphrastic Poem. This type of poem is inspired by art work, painting, sculpture, photo etc. We will be using Kay Bell’s Poetry Meditation Deck for a poetry prompt. Music by DJ Grumble “Cup o Joe”.

19. Playlist Poem

Today we create a playlist poem also known as a mixtape poem on Spotify. Create a playlist of amazing titles to arrange a poem. Music by Yaahn Hunter Jr. “R&B Chill Vibes”.

20. Reverse/Palindrome Poem

Today we create reverse or palindrome poems with the Magnetic Poetry Set. We will find 10 words that stand out to us and use these words to wrote a poem, then we will read it in reverse. Music by Bluestaeb “TIBBE”.

21. Haibun Poetry

Today we create a Haibun. A Haibun is a Japanese poem combining a prose poem and a haiku. I wore a high bun for the occasion hee hee. Music by Khruangbin “Summer Madness”

22. Cinquain

Today, we write a cinquain. A cinquain is a five-line poem that follows a 2,4,6,8,2 syllable pattern or word count. Music by Yaahn Hunter Jr. “Fall Chill Vibes”.

23. Acrostic

Today we write an acrostic poem. An acrostic poem is a type of poem where the first letter of each line, spells out a word, message, or stanza. Music by Conductor Williams “Oscar”.

24. Recipe Poem

Today we create a Recipe Poem. This unique poem is a blend of poetry and cooking instructions. Have you written one before? If not, try it! Music by Akasha “Brown Sugar”.

25. Tanka

Today we create a Tanka. A tanka is a five-line Japanese poem with a 5-7-5-7-7 syllable pattern, often reflecting nature or emotions. Music by: Joomanji “Somethin Out of Nothin’” (feat. Saara Maria).

26. Alliteration

Happy Winter! Today we bring back my Poems, Prompts, and Purpose Cards for some inspiration. We are creating a poem using alliteration.🌊💨🔥🌳 Choose any natural element and use it as an affirmation to write your piece. Music by: poems “Airy Dream”.

27. Free Verse

Today we write a free verse poem. A free verse is a style of poetry that doesn’t adhere to a specific structure, allowing the poet to write with more flexibility and freedom. Music by Lafayette Afro Rock Band “Darkest Light”.

29. Kintsugi Poem

Today we write #Kintsugi poems! A Kintsugi poem is inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, which is the practice of repairing broken pottery with gold, emphasizing the cracks rather than hiding them. Happy Writing Wednesday and Happy National Poetry Month!

This is my 30th video!!! This challenge is complete. Today we write with rhyme schemes. We will learn about AABB, ABAB, and sonnets. Challenge yourself but do not stress out. Poetry is meant to be fun and therapeutic! #HappyWriting!
